The students that have presented theirs so far have done a great job! I look forward to hearing the rest tomorrow. The only other reading homework is to continue to read and record on the blue reading logs. Students finished reading the narrative portion of their books that contained characters with a disability. Now their task is to learn about the disability and present the information to the class. This will be completed by next Monday.
In writing students practiced their spelling words. They also should review them at home tonight. Miss Simmons started them on a new narrative prompt that involved their plane running out of gas and landing on an island! It sounds like an exciting prompt to write about!
In math we will start to learn how to multiply a 2 digit by 2 digit number! We have the usual homework, minus the orange sheet, this week.
For celebrating differences we will be talking about political, social, and economic prejudices. Mark your calendars! The students will performing for you at the end of this unit. The date is March 4th! More information will be coming about this exciting event!
In science we are continuing our electricity unit! We are learning how to complete a circuit to make motors run! We will also begin adding a switch into the circuit to see how the switch can create open and closed circuits. We will experiment with motors and lightbulbs to ultimately master the idea of a circuit!
