Our measurement unit in math starts today!

Today we are continuing to read our new novels. As we read, we write down 2 vocabulary words in our book to look up, write a sentence for, and draw a picture to illustrate what it means. When finished with vocabulary words, we complete our great thinkers charts to show what we are thinking as we read our novels. Once students have completed their great thinkers chart we answer questions about our stories, which will be used as a guideline for our discussion groups next week. This is when we sit down in groups of 8 and talk about the book we are reading!

For reading homework, don’t forget to sign the blue reading log so we can keep track of our Cat in the Hat reading hours!

In writing we are continuing our narrative rough drafts. We are so close to the revising stage in writing as well!

For homework, don’t forget to practice your spelling words because tomorrow we have our spelling test!

In math we are starting a new measurement unit! We will begin working with inches, feet, and yards and learn a measurement song so we memorize how many inches in a foot, how many feet in a yard, and how many inches in a yard. We will eventually use this knowledge to be able to convert measurements from feet to inches, from feet to yards, and so on.

Don’t forget to do your math homework!

In social studies we are reviewing for the test! We have a test tomorrow on early explorers and early visitors. STUDY! STUDY! STUDY!

Today we also have our Celebrating Differences practice. Don’t forget to be studying your lines at home for our upcoming performance!
